Jitendra Bohra, never did shirk from helping and training any person, who came to him despite knowing that it could be detrimental to his business interests. Sticking to the philosophy propounded by his father Jethmal that one must think of others, not only about oneself, Bohra has motivated and trained hundreds of youths of the city to venture into entrepreneurship.

With many 'firsts' to his credit since his venturing into the field of gensets, Bohra, a wizard of sales and service, has maintained a leading position in his field not only in Jodhpur but has topped also in various categories even on national level as the best performer.

Born in Jodhpur in a traditional Pushkarna family in 1969, Bohra completed his schooling from different government schools and proceeded to pursue Diploma in Electrical engineering from the polytechnic college, Jodhpur, a qualification, which he has always been proud of for grooming himself as an engineer.

After securing the qualification as an engineer in 1995, he assisted his parents in their Potato Wafers' business for some time, until he found a job with the BSE. The stint with BSF, however, lasted barely a month. He then stepped into the world of gensets by taking up a job with a genset company as a salesperson and next few years passed learning and training the business nuances across 2 jobs with two different companies serving in Jodhpur and Jaipur.

It was in 2003, when his wife Abha, a Ph. D in Philosophy, stepped into servicing of gensets as an aide of Bohra after his observation of a huge gap between sales and service during his job. Both his wife and his father, with his mechanical acumen, gained expertise and credibility in genset service in a short time. Such was the spirit and skill that they rolled out the first silent genser in Jodhpur on their own.

Then Bohra decided to take a decisive step and laid the foundation of 'Abha Gensets" in 2006 quitting his job. With focus on providing sales and service facilities under one roof, which was unheard of then, he obtained the dealership of Mahindra Powerol gensets.

With his wife Abha as the chairman of the company, the duo set off their entrepreneurial journey with determination and achieved a name, many dream for, for the company in the field of gensers sales and services. It is this value system of Bohra's business model that almost all the gensets installed in the city today are from Abha Gensets, Later on his daughter Muskan, a Management post-graduate, and son-in-law Devendra, an Engineering graduate, also joined the business to give a fresh lease of their knowledge and energy.

An avid reader of books related to administration, management, planning and marketing, he underwent a certificate course in Management Development Program from IIM Lucknow in 2019 but his business acumen and practices always stood ahead of their times, which contributed immensely in shaping and expanding his venture.

With an staunch customer centric approach, Bohra makes sure to personally meet the client and visit the installation site himself despite having a huge team of experts, simply with a view to connect directly with the client and understanding his needs and limitations in true spirit.

With abhorrence to 'sale and forger' business practice, he holds customer-meet once every year to strengthen his relationship with his customers, which according to him builds trust and brings business. Not only this, but he arranges periodic visits of the customers to the manufacturing facility of gensets to inculcate credibility about the product. In his 14 years' journey, Bohra has been honoured by the company as the best performer in Rajasthan state for 1 times, in North Zone 13 times and in the entire country for 11 times.

It was this authority of Bohra in sales and service of gensets, that the company altered its policies on his opinion. First time ever it happened that any company offered a 5 years warranty on gensets and introduced the concept of sales and service under one roof inspite of internal disagreement in the company. His unblemished technical wisdom also led to technical upgradation of the gensets, manufactured by the company.

Inspired by this technical wisdom, son Deependra has also chosen the same path as his father and has been pursuing qualification in engineering from the polytechnic college considering ample practical exposure. And this is the knack of Bohra, which has held his enterprise high and growing steadily inspite of a fierce competition in the field of gensets. Electrical engineer by profession, Bohra has also been providing electrical consultancy for commercial projects on the turn key basis.

Interestingly both Bohra and his wife were the first in the city from their community to choose entrepreneurship. And considering this to be a drawback not only for his community but for the city as well, he strived hard that youth of the city stayed in the city with a job in the city. With this perspective, he tries hard to train, guide and motivate youth for entrepreneurship.

Today, almost all those offering sales and service of gensets in the city have been trained by him standing before him as his competitor. But he has no regret. A fatherly figure for his employees, Bohra has strictly maintained a 30% reservation for women in his work-force with clear directions to all to give a confirmation call after reaching home. As the President of Pushkarma Professional Society, Bohra has been consistently motivating and assisting youths of the community for self-reliance instead of wasting their time finding jobs in other cities. One can go to him anytime to seck any entrepreneurial or career-related guidance or assistance. He will never say no. Bohra is also associated with Lion's Club's as the Secretary of Jodhpur West and has been actively contributing to the social activities carried out by the club.
